Arranged in mostly chronological order, the compilation opens with "Never Grow Old," recorded in 1956 at New Bethel Baptist Church in Detroit, where her father, C. L. Franklin, served as pastor. This vinyl release captures the evolution of a soul icon from her earliest spiritual recordings to her most celebrated performances.
