Soul Revivers, the ambitious and collaborative project from David Hill and Nick Manasseh, returns with their new album, ‘Holding It Down’. Steeped in West London’s reggae heritage, this project unites icons of Jamaican music with some of London’s finest musical talent. Following their critically acclaimed 2022 album ‘On The Grove’ and the subsequent dub version ‘Grove Dub’, ‘Holding It Down’ continues this rich musical tradition.
This release features a roster of legendary contributors, including Johnny Clarke, one of reggae’s founding fathers. Fellow Jamaicans, vocalists Susan Cadogan and Earl 16, and trombonist Vin Gordon, lend their exceptional talents, alongside Sandra Cross, a stalwart of the UK reggae scene. The album is presented in a beautiful sleeve featuring an incredible black and white photograph by Charlie Phillips of the first Notting Hill Carnival in 1966.
This LP is fittingly released to coincide with the 2026 Carnival, an institution close to the hearts of Soul Revivers, continuing to expand West London’s reggae connections.
